Why do so many religious people think their in the time of reckoning?

What's with that? I'm not hassling religion.

But why do people go over and over again that the world is about to end.Why do so many religious people think their in the time of reckoning?
They have thought this for many years, perhaps from the very beginning of Christianity. They are going by the last book in their bible, called Revelations which describes the end of the world as we know it.

There is A lot of symbolism used in Revaluations that can be compared to many historical happenings after the fact, much like Nostradamus writings can be.

Because they are religous! Why do so many religious people think their in the time of reckoning?
They listen to imperfect people. Gotta listen to the Perfect One who knows the future.
It's really a form of narcissism. They are self important enough to believe that they will be here to not only see it, but be one of the elect. The overly religious in every generation feels that theirs is the end time. Will still be happening, sadly, a few hundered years from now.Why do so many religious people think their in the time of reckoning?
I'm Christian and I don't believe the world is coming to an end. I just try to live the way God wants me to so I won't go to Hell when my time on Earth ends.
Because they're fukn dumb.

Religion is a waste of time.
this is a question I've asked of people before. People always have some theory about how the rapture is coming soon. I think it's due to the fact that so much of the bible is written in a way that it can be interpreted to mean so many things? Does that make any sense? There's just always a way to relate revelations to the current events, it seems.
because supposedly the mayan calendar ends in 2012.

but there's been how many times before that the world was supposedly going to end...and obviously it didn't.

no one knows for sure...and my guess is it's the people who don't like not knowing what's going to happen that come up with these dates of the end of the world.
Simply because most humans think the world revolves around themselves.
Oh blessed day of reckoning. When ALL will see the true Christ coming in power and great glory to take His rightful place as king of kings! Glory to God!
because the church lies.

theres so many beliefs.

that why i dont believe.

im not gonna say whats

gonna happen. i'll wait

till something happens.

same with death. i'll wait

till my times up so i would

know what happens after death
I'm not really sure, I do know that people have been saying that the day of reckoning is among us for decades/centuries.

I think that it's human nature to create a doomsday scenario then panic about it, I don't know, all I know is no one, no man and no creature can predict the end of civilization or time so people should really start living their lives and having fun instead of worrying so much about something that is unpredictable.
Because they interpret the war and hardship the world is facing wrongly. Christians don't read their sacred text carefully enough, or simply ignore the passages that say that no man can predict the end of the world, or they believe that by proclaiming the Apocalypse, they can somehow force God's hand into delaying judgment because they assume that He won't end the world while someone's saying that the end is coming. I've been a Christian all my life, but I don't try to say what's going to happen to the world because in all honesty, I don't know.
I think the reason is misunderstanding religion in the first place. As a Muslim I learn from the Quran and other Islamic books that hope is always there no matter how bad things go, and that a person should keep trying hard until they improve the bad circumstances they are in, and that if they do this it will eventually certainly happen.
According to the many prophecies in the Bible that are being fulfilled

at this time, many believe we are in the "last days" of the church

age. The "church age" will end with the Rapture, the catching up

and away of the believers. 1Thessalonians 4:13-18 describes this.

And though the Bible says we are not to set dates, He does say

to read the signs of the times, and they do seem to be pointing to

the soon coming of Jesus. Those left behind will suffer through

God's wrath called the "Great Tribulation Period" when His wrath

will be poured out on those that have caused pain, and sorrow,

and evil in this world. The best way to prepare for the Rapture is to

make sure you have Christ in your heart, then you can be glad

that it's almost time. May God bless you.
They are ignoring the prophecies written in the bible %26amp; following what some gang or church has told them instead of reading the bible themselves.

It is sad. So many of those folks are good peoples.
